Having completed her Preclinical Medical studies at University College London Medical School with Distinction, Flavia is now undertaking her PhD in the Neural Computation Lab as part of the Wellcome Trust Optical Biology PhD programme.

She is using novel optical techniques to study the dendritic mechanisms of state-dependent changes in cortical network processing.

In her spare time she can be found in the Functional Neurosurgery department, playing football for her medical school, writing, or at organ recitals! She is also passionate about Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in science, serving as the lead for Disabilities on the medical school EDI committee.
